It’s hard to imagine what’s like to live in North Korea. The isolated country is known for its secrecy and severe rules. Every aspect of the life of the population is dictated by the supreme leader Kim Jong-un and the violators are being punished.

#1 Approved Haircuts Only

Women in North Korea are allowed to style their hair according to the 18 legal haircuts. In addition to that, single women can wear only short hair and only married women can have long hair.

#2 A Secretive Birthday

The actual year Kim Jong-un was born is a state secret. It is believed that he was born in 1982, but 1983 and 1984 are also options.

#3 Youngest Leader

Despite the uncertainty over his real age, Kim Jong-un is still the youngest leader in the world at 31, 32 or 33. At least we know that he is born on the 8th of January.

#4 Undercover Student

Wearing sneakers, sweatshirt and jeans he attended the International School of Bern (Switzerland), hiding his real identity. While he was undercover, Kim introduced himself as the son of a diplomat and his name was either Pak Un or Un-Pak.

#5 An Academic Failure

According to some reports, as a student Kim spent his time playing computer games, football and basketball, instead of studying. The great leader of North Korea was an academic failure, graduating without taking any exams.

#6 No Military Experience

It is a little-known fact that the Supreme Leader is a top-ranked military figure, without any military experience or training. We only know that he loves launching nuclear missiles every now and then. The lack of training doesn’t seem to bother Kim, who is responsible for the 4th largest military in the world.

Kim’s father Kim Jong-il hated American brands and preferred more luxury goods, but Kim loves Nike sneakers and is reported to have a huge collection of them.
