These are probably the happiest pigs in the world. Living on a inhabited island in Exuma Cay, a district of the Bahamas, they love to swim in the ocean and are ready to eat anything that you give them.
When they see your boat approaching the shore, they’ll swim as fast as they can to get to you!
There are few legends about how the pigs got to the island. According to one of them, sailors dropped them with the purpose to come back and eat them, but they never did, so the pigs survived. Another legend is that the pigs survived a shipwreck and swam to the shore. Other stories suggest that the pigs escaped from a nearby islet.
It doesn’t really matter whichever of them is true, because now the pigs are living happily on the island and are fed by locals and tourists. They are so adorable and are very friendly to people, so you can swim with them and feed them.

Because of the increasing popularity of the animals, locals decided to name the island Pig Beach, though its official name is Big Major Cay.
It’s surely one of the most exciting and memorable experiences ever!
